We are all cruising yachtsmen with a wide understanding of long distance sailing, as well as being professional film-makers with many decades of experience in the film industry, including broadcast television, high-quality corporate production and educational training.

Michael Hall

Michael Hall

Having started with dinghy sailing, he has been a cruising yachtsman for 40 years. This includes sailing around most of NW Europe from the Netherlands to Spain as well as taking part in two Round-Britain Races. Professionally, apart from being Managing Director of a long-established film production company making programmes for broadcast television, Michael also teaches film-making to undergraduates at the University of Bristol where he is currently a Visiting Fellow.


David Harding

David Harding

David Harding was two weeks old when he first took to the water on his parents' cruiser. He started sailing dinghies on his own at the age of seven and completed the first of four Atlantic crossings 10 years later, going on to log over 35,000 offshore miles with passages in the Mediterranean, Indian Ocean and Red Sea. Now an independent marine photographer as well as Technical Editor and principal boat-tester of Britian's biggest-selling yachting magazine, Practical Boat Owner, David has tested more than 250 types of boat from dinghies, tenders, RIBs and runabouts to multihulls, power boats and offshore cruising yachts all over Europe. He also writes about boat handling, sail trim and rig tuning.


Clare Raby

Clare has been a professional film-maker for more than 18 years, specialising in camera work and editing. Her broadcast experience includes producing a six-part series, 'Forgotten Ports' featuring Sir Robin Knox-Johnston. Clare is a keen cruising yachtsman and has sailed both in Ireland and the west coast of Spain as well as around the coastal waters of southern Britain and the west coast of England.


John Honey

John is a qualified electronics engineer with many years of experience in the broadcast television industry. A keen dinghy sailor and cruising yachtsman, he lives on the water's edge in a house overlooking the beautiful River Lynher in the West Country. When not involved with filming on locations around the country, John looks after our DVD duplication needs as well being responsible for all our DVD authoring.
